Hello Parents,
I hope you are enjoying this beautiful weather that we are having today! It is really starting to feel like Spring. We have had lots of great learning in the classroom, so let’s read about it.
Reading & Writing: Students have been hard at work with their Famous Figure Biography Project. Students have read their ‘Who Was…” chapter book and took notes on each chapter. This process took us about 10 days from cover to cover. Students then transferred their notes to a GoogleDoc. Our next steps are going to be creating mini posters for their overall Wax Museum presentation in early May. Next week, students who have not finished their chapter book will take them home to complete to catch up.
Math: Centimeters, fractions and story problems! Students have been mastering the traditional addition and subtraction strategy so they can perfect their skills with story problems. Students took their Unit 7 math exam today. Please expect this test to be sent home next week with Unit 6’s exam.
Science: Students are learning about life cycles relating to plants. In class, we have planted alfalfa and wheat grass. Students will be observing and drawing their plant’s progress. We will also be bringing in potatoes and watching them sprout!
Announcement:

Remember! Monday is walk to school day! Please have students wear comfortable shoes and clothes as they walk to school to honor Mother Earth!
